What is ernie kent?

Ernie Kent is a former college basketball player and coach. He was born on January 22, 1955, in Rockford, Illinois.

Kent played college basketball at the University of Oregon from 1973 to 1977. After graduating, he went on to have a successful coaching career, starting as an assistant coach at Stanford University before becoming the head coach at Saint Mary's College in California.

In 1997, Kent was hired as the head coach of the University of Oregon men's basketball team. During his tenure, he led the Ducks to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and a trip to the Elite Eight in 2002. Kent was named the Pac-10 Coach of the Year in 2002.

After leaving Oregon in 2010, Kent had coaching stints at Washington State University and the University of Portland. He currently works as a college basketball analyst for the Pac-12 Network.
